If reports are true - are you happy with the appointment or not?
I'm not sure. Did very well initially but then couldn't address the slump they found themselves in lasts season. The latter bit concerns me as we are in that situation now.
Can't be any worse than the previous regime.

Lee will have my full backing.
He understands the DNA of the club, gets players fighting for him and isn't likely to suffer fools gladly. Just what this team needs.
The crucial thing is whether Dong stays or goes. If Dong stays, give it 12 months (or minutes) until Bowyer chins him and gets sacked...
Looking tactically, Bowyer's favoured formation is 4-4-2.
He also had Leko at Charlton last season and he got the best out of him in a front two.
Perhaps a sign that he may pair Hogan/Leko with Juke/Cosgrove and actually try to get the ball in the sodding box to feed them.
I'm thinking it'll be similar to Monk's effective 'back to basics' 4-4-2 implementation when we paired Adams/Juke together.
Lots of balls into the channels. Lots of energy in midfield. Organised back four. Surely got to yield some more positive results?

One thing to note about their slump they found themselves in. They lost Lyle Taylor, Chris Solley and Andre Green who all opted out due to covid. Losing Taylor and Solly was especially was crippling to them.

I’m in. Fully behind the Bowyer and David Karanka super show.

Apologies, although you are twisting stats to suit your agenda a little. They won 10 in 37 games before the break, but went on a poor run in the second quarter where they didn’t win for 10 games. Taylor was also injured for a large chunk of that.

I don’t care about the pedigree any more we could of employed a big fancy name and have the same issues we have now I think it’s about the right fit for blues and I think bowyer just feels right.
He is defo more lively than Karanka so hopefully will get feel good factor back and I think that’s something they probably haven’t had since Monk came in, as pep was there already and Karanka is the most boring manager I think we have ever had.
On a side note I watched the touch line camera thing they do at Barnsley shows our bench aswell Throughout the game Just wow to karankas reaction to each goal (or lack of it) I am just glad it’s over

He wasn't my preference, but choice was limited in reality. The fact he’s resigned suggests his eagerness to join us. No doubt he has the character and enthusiasm that has been lacking from previous two managers, so I think he can lift these players enough and instil confidence to save us. I don't care what anyone says, they are much better than we are seeing at present. Being an ex player and his connection with the fans and club should help too. It's just a shame the fans aren't there for the run in.

A bit unfair to say I was twisting the stats. They did get off to a fantastic start (and I was singing his praises at the time) but it went downhill from about the middle of October and he wasn't able to stop the slump.
As you've pointed out injuries and COVID problems have played their part in that. I'll be honest I wasn't aware of those things but even so I'm still not convinced he's got what it takes to keep us up.
I'm not going to say I think he's a poor choice. I'll just judge him on what he does for us. As the last manager proved even a seemingly solid appointment can spectacularly backfire. There's not really a fat lot to choose from at the moment and no one really stands out.
Hopefully he keeps us up, improves us next season and makes my doubts about him look very silly.

I probably could have worded that better, I'm sorry for how it come across. I can definitely understand your concerns about him though, as I said he wasn't my preference. That said, he's definitely got a stronger squad with Blues than he had with Charlton and I think he has the sort of charisma the players should respond to, at the very least in the short-term. I can't talk really, I thought Karanka was going to be a good fit for us and help us become stable. Turns out it was an absolute disaster.Pashun wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 8:31 pm A bit unfair to say I was twisting the stats.
